People ask Ian Lawman the same questions time and time again, why did the Kray Twins come to you?, and why are you called the Psychic Bad-Boy? Ian Lawman went to dance school and at the same time went to martial arts classes to help build up his strength, which would help when lifting girls. However, what Ian didn’t realise, was that instructor Tony Grey saw something in Ian that you only come across a few times in your lifetime.

 

By the age of sixteen Ian had trained in dance and also became a black belt in two martial arts, later becoming a master making Ian a supple fighting machine. Moving down to Bournemouth, Ian became head doorman in a well known night club which was trouble and a local haunt for Royal Marines, after only two weeks he had gained the respect from the locals and the Marines, news traveled fast and Ian was head hunted by a top celebrity members only club.

 

The biggest decision he ever had to make in his whole career so far had to be telling the world he had been talking to the Kray Twins.

For two years they had kept him awake and altered his whole life, so how would people and especially the press react?! Ian still needed to have a career at the end of all this.

It's hard enough telling people he was a Psychic at the best of times, never mind saying that he was living and talking to the Kray Twins day and night. With the right press and a good contact in the Kray Twins' life Ian was happy to talk, so his journey was about to begin.

 

Ian decided to contact the Scunthorpe Evening Telegraph and they revealed to tell the world what was happening. After only a week he was contacted by a man called Jamie Rae, who was promoting a show for Dave Courtney. Ian was told Dave Courtney needed to meet him, not asked, told! This from the man who arranged Ronnie Krays funeral, Ian couldn't really say no, so he agreed.

A week later it was arranged to have a trip down to London to meet Dave. It was a strange feeling, this man was a gangster who had done time and worked for the Krays. Life's strange when you want something you never get it, and when you get it you never wanted it, Ian's vibes were that Dave was a nice guy, but the legend that is Dave Courtney unnerved him.

Ian arrived, he was now stepping foot into the house of one of the most feared men in the underworld. He stared with an open mouth just glaring at all the photos and artifacts inside the house; he was told "Dave will be down in a minute".

 

That was the longest minute he had ever had to wait. All he could hear was Dave singing, "Row row row your boat" and that was supposed to comfort to him. All was revealed when Dave Courtney walked round the corner smiling and laughing and explained his daughter couldn't sleep, Ian was very relieved.

 

Dave Courtney was a man with power, it was strange that this man now wanted to hear his side of the Kray Twins story, he sat, listened and never said a word! On Ian's return to the sitting room after a restroom visit, he asked what Dave really thought of him. Ian then thought did he really what to know? But it was too late the question was asked, "Well" Jamie replied (who had brought Ian) "he thinks your OK, and you don't look stupid enough to lie to him".

After spending more time with Dave, Ian was starting to feel more relaxed in his presence. Later that day he was going on a TV shoot and he invited him to tag along. Ian couldn't help but notice Dave's phone kept ringing constantly, which prompted him to say "do you ever got fed up with the phone ?", he replied "these people ringing have done time, been shot and been beaten black and blue for me, so why should I turn my back on them now” That’s the good side of Dave, he seemed a very loyal friend to have around.

On the way to the TV show they traveled in style by a chauffeur driven limo. Ian started to relax, so he thought it was time to try and tune in to Dave's spirit friends. The messages were coming loud and strong. Dave looked straight at him, it was like he knew he was going to say something.

Ian looked straight back and said "Dave I have your dad here". "Go on" he said not giving anything away, he then passed on what Dave's father had to say. Then suddenly a message from the Kray Twins themselves came though, this was unreal, the spirits of Ronnie and Reggie Kray with Dave Courtney and Ian all in the same car. After a moment’s hesitation, he passed the message on from the Kray Twins to Dave. He then said angrily "how do you know that! I'm the only person who knows"

"Stop the bloody car," yelled Dave and Ian thought OH S*** this is it. He had just hit Dave Courtney with some messages that no one could have known about in any shape or form and for once in a long time Dave Courtney was left speechless for a moment. He continued to stare straight at Ian with those menacing eyes, and then spoke very quietly and directly to him "No one could know a F****** thing like that unless it’s......" and then silence all the way to the TV show (it was as though Dave was thinking what to do next). Later he grabbed his arm and said "Never repeat what you've just told me, but you were bloody right and f****** scary", and then he laughed, slapped him on the back and sauntered off, leaving Ian absolutely speechless.

 

 

From that moment on, Dave treated Ian differently, it was like he now understood where he was coming from, the TV show went well and he even told the film crew about him. On the way back to Dave's house he took Ian for a beer or ten, with a few games of pool thrown in.

 

Ian's day was drawing to a close with Dave, the next time he would meet him would be at his house for a press release the day before his big show. It's a time Ian will never forget, after meeting this man he realized he was an honorable man to his friends, with a past that will live on in history books. For the right or wrong reasons, Dave Courtney should be given a chance to express his feelings, and let his past stay where it is. After all we can change our futures after learning from our pasts.

 

Since this story Ian embarked on a tour with Dave Courtney. Allowing Ian's abilities to be seen by audiences and telling the story on how it feels talking to the spirits of the notorious Kray Twins, to which Ian still does to this day.

Ian has since met up with the USA Mafia to talk about the talking to the dead Kray twins and is now a well-protected man.
