Sitting bolt upright in bed, I glanced at the bedside clock – it was 01.10am. As the sweat dripped down my back I curled into a ball and was filled once again with an overwhelming sense of fear and dread. The same nightmare had plagued me for three years and I just couldn’t make sense of it. It had started when I was 16 and always happened between 01.10am and 02.10am – never a minute sooner or a minute later. I’d see a steep hill with trees on either side of a road; next, I’d see water and then hear a loud bang, which would wake me up. Looking back now, I know it was a premonition, a warning, and one that would come true in the most horrendous way, but at the time I just thought I was going crazy. It wasn’t the first time that I’d been plagued with strange happenings.
